You may feel sad, and hopeless, often with loss of interest and appetite and an increased need for sleep. The depression may be caused by an immediate situation such as loss of a loved one, a serious unexpected illness, loss of employment, or your depression feels that it has more of a life-long presence.
Treatment for depression ranges from psychotherapy and/or psychoanalysis, often in conjunction with medications (psychiatric evaluation). In addition to individual therapy, group therapy is also available. Please refer to the Practice Areas for more detail of the specifics of the treatment.
