Dennis Facchino, PhD


Dennis Facchino Ph.D. is a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist who sees adults with issues related to relationships, anxiety, depression, and addictive disorders. He sees children, 8 to 12 years, and adolescents with academic, social, and family issues. His practice is in Palo Alto and Los Altos.

The process of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy involves uncovering the unconscious material that underlie the conditions mentioned above using dreams, free associations, images, fantasy, awareness, and insight. Dr. Facchino worked 10 years with in-patient psychiatry where he led daily patient groups as well as weekly family meetings. He has extensive training in group process, group therapy and couples psychotherapy.

Dr. Facchino has been a licensed therapist since 1977. He has a doctorate in Marital and Family Therapy (1988) and completed his psychoanalytic training at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (2005). He is a faculty member at PINC and an Assistant Clinical Professor in Department of Psychiatry at University of California San Francisco.
